Many modern office buildings in London have stone façades, this is due to the prohibitive costs and practicalities of constructing in load-bearing stone. Usually each floor of stone is supported on stainless steel brackets, each stone is individually retrained.
Hockley & Dawson provided structural design and advice for the fixings and restraints on this example in New Bond Street. All the fixings are hidden to leave clean lines and enhance the beauty of natural stone (Portland limestone in this case).
We have successfully completed many projects of this nature.
